First Day Jitters

Today we listened to the story, 'First Day Jitters'. We learned that everyone has 'jitters' about the first day of school, even the teacher!



We then had some Jitter Juice to get rid of all of our fears!

Welcome to Room 20's class blog! We are a wonderful class of 28 amazing learners, ready to start an exciting year of enjoyment in learning.

We will have class bloggers who will update what we are doing in the class, adding their comments, photos and videos. We'll also use our blog for home learning activities.

Mult/Div to start the term

We've been carrying on our learning from Term 3 of multiplication, and some of us are starting to learn division also! Here are some cool games to practise what we've learnt so far:

The WHERO group have been learning about factors (the number that multiply together to get the product. E.g What are the factors of 12? 1x12, 3x4 and 2x6. So 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 are all factors of 12)

Spelling Awards

We have been working so hard on our spelling this year. We've also been working on our self-management skills, by remembering our notebooks each week.

Next week we have our spelling awards... I wonder who will get them this term?

Sad Bubbles

I'm....... scared, sad and cold.
My fingers are trembling, I am grasping my bubble machine, with fake flowers. my mum is weeping quietly.

I can feel the bubbles popping. I feel scared of the coffin. the rain is splashing outside. My bubble machine is really cold. My outfit looks the neatest and most beautiful.  I hardly dared to breath loudly.

There are church seats every where, one side is for Guests one for Family. It is the first funeral I am at. Everyone is as quiet as mice.

I didn't even want to say a word encase it would disturb the quietness.
"Why on Earth did Grandad Denis die so young?" I think in my head.
I can see a ring of flowers and a bunch of flowers.

Me and my Sisters Emily and Alice. Are nearly at the steps. We go up the steps, and we are still going crazy over blowing bubbles. We are told to sit down.

I'm running to get Chelsea. I trip and smell a funny smell, almost like the smell of blood...
my foot is bleeding! Mrs Woolford and  Kate help me go to the sick bay.
I am now in the sick bay with people crowding and asking questions. Gabriella is here to comfort me. The pillow is soft, the bed is warm, I'm clenching my fists trying to be brave.my foot is numb from the cold of
the ice pack. ''Gabriella'' I say ''it really stings.''
