Leah, we hope you have an amazing time in Europe! I hope you're being kind to Mum and Dad - they need their sleep too! We will be following your blog while you're away (see 'Blogs we follow' > Super Scotland).
Chloe is off to America on Tuesday to represent her dance school in some showcase events. You are very talented Chloe and we wish you well for your time over there. Good luck!!

Circus Science - again!
We are coming to the end of our Circus Science unit. We're going to share our learning by creating posters about the 5 forces we have learned about:
-Push and pull
-Gravity
-Balance
-Centripetal force
-Friction
Together, you need to make notes (only a few words, not direct copying) about your force, and then write the information in your own words. We will discuss how to present this in class.
Here are some useful videos for more information:

Spring is by Sophie
We have been writing autumn poems in class. Sophie took it upon herself to create a spring poem following the same template!
Spring is by sophie
Spring is
A flower blooming
A cricket talking
A new born lamb
One lovely smell
A bright garden
A white daisy
A green tree
One apple ripe
A colourful meadow
A happy dance
A baby bunny
One robin's song

Circus science!
We have started studying push and pull forces for our new inquiry topic. On Monday, we looked at lots of photos and videos of push and pull forces in action. We really enjoyed the Cirque de Soleil performances!! Here's one of our favourites:
On Tuesday, we brought our own toys to school (ones that used push or pull to move or change them). We classified our toys into three categories: push, pull or push and pull forces. Here are the photos:

Welcome Back Everyone!
Welcome to Term 2 everyone!
We start the term welcoming Ava and her family to Halswell School. We are very lucky to have another wonderful person join our class!
Please remember, you need to make sure you're warm outside this winter. You will be eating inside most days, but you will be playing outside unless it's raining. That means, sweatshirts AND a jacket if you have one. Beanies/gloves/scarves are all OK but please remember to name them. They are your responsibility and need to fit into your bag during class time.
You may like to bring slippers to wear inside, as all dirty shoes need to be taken off before entering the class.
As always, please bring a drink bottle, your reading folder with notebook inside, and a beautiful smile to class tomorrow :)
