What a year we have had Room 20! Amongst all of the challenges we have faced - earthquakes, snow, and loosing power to our classroom - you have all managed to make such amazing progress in the academic, sporting, cultural and social aspects of your lives. I am so proud of each and every one of you and will cherish the close bonds we have all had with each other this year. I hope you all have a wonderful break. To those of you leaving us for an exciting adventure in a new class - we wish you all the best, and hope to have you back for a few visits! To the rest of you - I will see you next year, ready for another year of exciting learning activities.
A special congratulations to Julie and Harriet for being voted the most ACTIVE members of our class in 2011. What a special acknowledgement of all your hard work!
Well done to our members of the Year 3-6 choir, who managed to raise over $200 from their visit to Barrington Mall. You are all stars!
Thank you Julie, Tristan, Harry, Caleb, Millie, Xanthe, Ben, Jorja, Zara, Summer, Harriet, Jaimee, Luke, Jess, Caitlin, Ryan, Liam, Georgia, Sterling, Eli, Grace, Caleb and Jessica for a fantastic year! I have been blessed with an amazing class this year, and really appreciate the hard work you have put in this year. Keep up the great work over the holidays, while also enjoying the time with your families and friends.
Happy holidays everyone! - Mrs W

Maori vowel song
We have been singing 'a ha ka ma' to practise our Maori vowel sounds. We hope you enjoy our performance!
Watercolour Art
We had another visit from Suzie, from the Art Gallery, who taught us how to paint using watercolours. Thanks Suzie for such a great lesson - we are very proud of what we achieved during the session!

Back in Black Day
To celebrate the end of our ripper rugby tournament, the Ripper Rugby World Cup, we had a 'Back in Black' day at school. We also had a visit from Sam. It was great to see him!
After watching the finals, the children of Room 20 became a fantastic (and possibly the loudest) cheer squad for the All Blacks team: a team of teachers and parents (and possibly Mr Topham's son to add some speed!) taking on the Year 7/8 champions.
After a tough competition, which saw the All Blacks using all of their subs many, many times, the teachers and parents came out on top by ONE POINT! Well done to the Year 7/8 team for such a great game.
A big thank you to all of the Room 20 children - I could hear you on the sidelines cheering for me!

Our C02 dragster cars!
Here are a few snaps of Room 20's C02 powered dragster cars. We all worked so hard on these and they came out really well. We were very lucky to have a lot of parent helpers to help with shaping, cutting, and helping our plans turn into reality.
